Third Annual Walk For Steven

A spitfire of a boy, Steven Domalewski loves sports, the outdoors, and people of all ages. His love for baseball has transcended into a love for all sports. Steven is a boy scout for IHM church who desires to be outside making things with his hands. All of that came to a halt on June 6th when a line drive hit Steven in the chest causing his heart to stop. He was placed in a hospital for 8 ½ months, but since has returned home to continue his recovery. Steven has been continuously progressing, but still remains unable to talk and walk. This teenage boy is filled with tons of energy, determination, and endurance. He will continue to amaze his family everyday.

NNJSRA Sponsors Junior Squash Clinics at Wayne Y

The Northern New Jersey Squash Racquets Association (NNJSRA) sponsored a series of four clinics for juniors at the YM-YWHA recently that introduced squash to twelve participants. The clinics were run by outstanding NNJSRA junior players, David Kerr, William Moore and Martin Bowden.

Each session focused on strokes and the basics of the game and reinforced those lessons with drills while the last session included a tournament for all players complete with awards, participant gifts and pizza. Several of the players had participated in previous clinics and the Y hopes to continue the junior squash program with additional offerings. At the awards, thanks went out to Wayne member Ilia Salita for helping organize the program as well as to the NNJSRA and the junior instructors.
