Teen Leader's Group If you are over the age of 13 and would like to be part of the Y teen leader’s group then contact Shari Kalter at ext. 272. This group will meet once a month and discuss important issues that are facing teens today, plan social action events, and help with teen programming at the Y.  Great resume builder and way to earn community services hours.

JCC Maccabi Artsfest – NEW ORLEANS YES! It is true! We are bringing a JCC Maccabi Artsfest delegation this year!! Are you a creative person ENTERING GRADES 8-12? Would you like to meet other Jewish teens who share your interests? Are you a dancer, painter, musician, or artist of any kind or genre? If your answer is yes you do not want to miss the JCC Maccabi ArtsFest in the summer of 2009 from August 2-7 in NEW ORLEANS! The art specialties include the visual arts, acting, creative writing (or broadcast journalism), culinary arts, dance, jazz, musical theatre, photography, rock, vocals, and more!  There is more detailed information about the art specialties and artists in residence, as well as a video on our website at www.jccmaccabiartsfest.org.

Birthright Israel Parent Information Session Save the date: Thursday, January 15th at 7:30 PM. Taglit-Birthright Israel provides the gift of first time, peer group, educational trips to Israel for Jewish young adults ages 18 to 26. Taglit-Birthright Israel's founders created this program to send thousands of young Jewish adults from all over the world to Israel as a gift in order to diminish the growing division between Israel and Jewish communities around the world; to strengthen the sense of solidarity among world Jewry; and to strengthen participants' personal Jewish identity and connection to the Jewish people. There will be an information session at the Y for parents who are thinking about sending their children on a Taglit-Birthright Israel trip. For more information contact Shari at ext. 272.

Teen Fitness Membership
Introducing the Y's Teen Membership!  It's the ONLY game in town for kids ages 13 - 18!  A
$311 Annual Membership Fee and a one time registration fee for the first year only entitles teens to use the fitness center, gymnasium, indoor pool, indoor and outdoor tracks, racquetball and squash courts, tennis courts, select group fitness and spin classes and the DFM Teen Lounge.

Teen members also receive discounts on Y classes and events such as dance classes, teen trips and special events, social action projects, Bluestreak's championship swim team, babysitter basics, basketball leagues, flag football and soccer instruction, Photoshop and painter IX classes.
