Swim Lessons Levels
Aquababies
Parent/Adult accompaniment in the water is required. Ages range from 6 months to 2 years old. This level provides the child with water adjustment, exploring the pool, bubble blowing, kicking on stomach and back with assistance.
Aquatots
Parent/Adult accompaniment in the water is required. Ages 2 to 4 years old. This level provides the child with water adjustment, exploring the pool, bubble blowing, kicking on stomach and back with assistance, underwater exploration, etc.
Level I
Water Exploration – Ages 4 years and older. The objective of this level is to help students feel comfortable in the water and to enjoy the water safely. The instructor will teach elementary aquatic skills, such as bubble blowing, kicking, and submerge their whole bodies.
Level II
Primary Skills – Ages 4 years and older. The instructor will provide students with fundamental skills such as front floating and back floating without support. True locomotion skills are introduced in this level.
Level III
Stroke readiness – Ages 4 years and older. Build on the skills in Level II. The instructor will teach students the coordination of the front and back crawl. At this level swimmers will be introduced to the breaststroke kick. Students must be comfortable with the deep part of the pool. Lesson will be administrated in a non-standing area of the pool.
Level IV
Stroke Development Ages 4 years and older. Development of confidence in the strokes learned thus far. Introduction of butterfly kick and diving from the side of the pool. Upon successful completion of this level students will be strongly encouraged to try out for the Bluestreaks Swim Team, or to enroll in the stroke clinic.
