UJA Federation of Northern New Jersey    www.ujannj.org
The UJA Federation of Northern New Jersey (UJA NNJ) takes action everyday to insure the quality of life for every Jewish person everywhere. UJA NNJ works to build and unify the community. It seeks to accomplish this goal by supporting the many centers of Jewish life through communication, cooperation, collective action, and financial resource development.

Israel Emergency Campaign
UJA Federation of Northern New Jersey (UJA NNJ) has launched the Israel Emergency Campaign in response to the ongoing terrorist threat against Israel. The Federation aims to help the most vulnerable populations in Israel’s besieged north, especially in our Partnership 2000 community of Nahariya – situated five miles from the Lebanon border.

Contributions will be used chiefly to assist children, seniors, the disabled, and new immigrants living in our sister community. Nahariya has been continually assaulted by Katyusha rockets since the Hezbollah attacks began, killing four and wounding hundreds of innocent victims in the last week.

Together with our national umbrella organization (United Jewish Communities) and our overseas partners, the Jewish Agency for Israel (JAFI) and the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC), we have already raised $13 million and are working to raise an additional $19 million to:

• Bring thousands of children to safer areas to attend one-week summer camps for a respite from the attacks and life in bomb shelters ($350 per child).

• Provide safe havens for families in need.

• Emergency supportive services for the elderly.

• Urgent interim assistance for Day Center clients.

• Treat terror victims and their families with direct support and counseling.

To donate by check, please make the check payable to UJA Federation of Northern New Jersey,
Israel Emergency Campaign and mail to:

Jewish National Fund
Jewish people all over the world have now an inviting and welcoming place where they can not only learn more about JNF and about our many programs but also actually participate in the work that we do. With today's technology, you can even plant a tree in Israel, from the comfort of your own home. By eliminating the boundaries of geography, and offering a means for Jewish people everywhere to help us in our efforts, we have created a powerful and dedicated community working toward a common goal.
